Today on my walk I saw:
- yellow violets
- rosy twisted stalk
- bleeding hearts
- horsetail
- false solomon's seal
- a trillium that wasn't dead yet
- deer prints
- creeping raspberry flowers
- maidenhair fern
- a slug that was actually kind of cute
- plantain
- spring beauties
- a spider that i think lost his way
- corydalis
- watercress
- a lovely sunset
then i sat in the midst of this beauty
and wondered/contemplated/marvelled
at how a God that created all of this...
could love me so much to die for me.
i really can't comprehend it.

I just realized something...
Is it really possible that Violets could be yellow?
Maybe it's just me, but I always thought "Violets" were called "Violets" because they were...
well...
you know...
VIOLET.
Hmm... Seems rather contradictory to me.
I say, if they're yellow, then call 'em "Yellows"
Seems much for fitting.
well...
Yellow violets are also called round leaved violets, but that's boring. Their scientific name is viola glabella, but that makes you sound like a wild flower geek. Besides the fact that they undeniably ARE yellow. There are white violets too, which just shows that whoever named them hadn't been to the west coast and didn't know there were different colors... So now we're stuck with a contradictory name. Oh well.
Agh!
Those botanists...
I tell ya...
Sometimes I just wanna...
And they're like...
And then I'm all...
And the flower's gone!
man,
Your telling me!
